Central 70 Update

Construction/Traffic Update

Week of February 9, 2019

Brighton Boulevard is scheduled to close under I-70 at 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 through 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18 for crews to demolish a portion of the I-70 bridge above. See the attached detour map to navigate this closure. This work is expected to exceed the noise limit outlined in the noise variance granted to Kiewit by DDPHE. Residents within the eligibility zone have been offered hotel vouchers during this work. A map of the eligibility zone and hotel voucher limits is also attached. Each resident has received a letter via mail and we will walk door-to-door next week to make sure every resident has been notified. Please note, this demolition is dependent on weather. We will communicate any schedule changes accordingly.

Dahlia Street will be closed under I-70 until Friday, Feb. 14. Monaco Street will be closed under I-70 until Tuesday, Feb. 11. Use Holly Street to navigate these closures.

Construction Noise Information:

Construction activities will be happening day and night. Activities that occur overnight will be within the noise variance limits of 75-decibel hourly average with an allowable spike up to 86 decibels. To make a complaint about construction noise during the night call the 24-hour hotline at 833-C70-INFO (833-270-4636). DDPHE regulates the noise variance and residents may also call the city at 3-1-1. There is additional information about the variance here.
