MCA AQUATICS UPDATE: Friday, July 10th
In order to share the summer fun with everyone we will begin putting a 2-day reservation hold on any resident accounts that successfully reserve open swim space.
To cancel a reservation please email, your facility, address available on your permit receipt, prior to your reservation start!
ANY RESERVATIONS NOT CLAIMED BY 25 MINUTES AFTER THE START WILL BE CANCELLED AND CONSIDERED A NO-SHOW AND SPACE WILL BE ABSORBED.
Limited Day-Of swimming availability
Beginning Monday, July 13th, pools will begin absorbing any un-claimed reservations at the bottom of the hour (10:30, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30) for a 1-hour day-of-swimming session. Any day-of swimmers must have an ActiveNet account to enter. Day-of-space is not guaranteed and will be EXTREMELY limited, based on a maximum of 50 swimmers per session.
Reservations Tips!
The reservations open at noon for everyone. There are thousands of people logging in for 50 spots. Here are some tips we are learning along the way!
1. If possible, connect with a lap or desk top computer. If you must try for a reservation with a mobile device select the "full site" option.
2. Check back after 2:00pm when any incomplete transactions are re-released into the system.
3. Consider a smaller group size. Groups of 2-3 are more available than groups of 6.
We understand that it is taking time to reserve space at the pool. We are continuing to make updates to the reservations system to help as many people access our facilities this summer as possible!
MCA AQUATICS UPDATE: Friday, July 3rd
Be a Good Neighbor & Help Us Spread the Summer Fun to Everyone
To reopen safely for public use the MCA is following the CDPHE guidance for pool safety. Which strongly encourages lap swimming only, but allows for limited open swim. We understand these guidelines will feel a lot different than past seasons. We are working diligently to provide a clean, safe environment for you, but with all things related to COVID-19 there is inherent risk.
Some have asked us to review our policy regarding No toys no floats*. We hear you. These rules must be followed for us to keep our pools open by establishing new usage patterns, including best efforts to minimize contact between non-household members, encouraging safe swimming habits in a season where we are not offering learn-to-swim programming, and empower lifeguard staff to maintain physical distancing while working.
While visiting the pool we ask parents and guardians of children 5 and under adhere to the following:
1. Stay within arm’s reach of your child at all times
2. If you must use a lifejacket, only use Coast Guard approved type I, II, or II.
Coast Guard type information should be easily viewable on the inside of a lifejacket. Look for the label to designate your device as type I, type II, or type III. We ask that any flotation devices not designated with these labels be kept at home this season.
*Exceptions will be made for ADA patrons and non-swimmers who may wear COAST GUARD APPROVED Type I II or III LIFEJACKETS.

AQUATIC FACILITIES, PROGRAMS & SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT
Facility Maintenance: Many of you have likely noticed our pools are being filled and a handful of workers performing routine maintenance inside our facilities. This work is mandatory and must be completed every year, regardless of opening. Not completing this essential facility upkeep can result in residual, costly, and long-lasting damage. The monthly community assessments support year-round care of our aquatic facilities. Assessment fees are not linked with pool access, which is why we offer Resident Membership Cards.
Resident Membership Cards: No new memberships will be sold at this time. If your current membership is approaching its expiration date, please refrain from renewing it online. The MCA staff will renew any expired memberships over the phone, if and when we can proceed with opening this season.
Aquatic Programming & Seasonal Staffing: All swim lessons through June are canceled. The MCA staff is working hard to adapt our Swim Team and Jr. Lifeguard programs to accommodate guidelines put forth by the CDC and Colorado Department of Public Health. We will continue to update residents on any aquatic programming updates via our website, social media accounts, and email newsletter. In addition, all seasonal employment opportunities have been withdrawn until further notice.
Now more than ever, we need the support of this wonderful community. If you see any activity within our aquatic facilities after hours, please call the police. Times of great uncertainty and change can be hard to navigate, but we assure you that we are continuing to work effortlessly to keep Stapleton a safe and vibrant community to call home.
FACILITY AND PARK RENTALS
The Cube and Community Room: Closed through June 30th, and all reservations will be canceled.
Outdoor Sport Fields and MCA Parks: Field and park reservations will be on hold through June 30th. If we receive an updated mandate from the City and County of Denver, we will reopen our parks and sports fields per their guidelines.
Essential services and operations, including trash and park maintenance, will continue.
WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER
The MCA is continuing to spotlight the incredible individuals and local businesses that reside in this delightful neighborhood.
The Master Community Association has been proactive and diligent in adapting our procedures and events to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Going forward, we will take a safe and responsible approach as we prepare for the return of certain company operations, and as we further develop future events and programming.
Conditions, concerns, and responses related to COVID-19 are changing daily. The MCA will continue to monitor the situation and adhere to mandates set forth by the CDC, as well as our state and local authorities. For the most up to date information and community news, please visit our website. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these trying times. MCA UPDATE: Wednesday, April 15th
AQUATIC FACILITIES, PROGRAMS & SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT
We do not know how this virus will ultimately impact our seasonal operations over the coming months. Still, we do expect it to significantly influence our ability to operate our facilities at the scale we are accustomed to. Op. Following current protocols, all aquatic programming, including lessons, swim team registration, and seasonal employment opportunities, are on hold until further notice. Original enrollment deadlines have been retracted. We will provide additional updates via our website, social media, and weekly eblast, regarding the proposed timeline for when activity registration and application acceptance may recommence. All updates are dependent on current health and safety guidelines re COVID-19 provided by state and city government officials.
RESIDENT MEMBERSHIP CARD RENEWALS:
The MCA understands that the COVID-19 pandemic significantly reduces the urgency for residents to renew their membership cards at this juncture, especially given the uncertainties surrounding the timeline for when the pools may be permitted to open this year.
Because of this underlying uncertainty, we are temporarily amending our current policy, and allowing our residents to renew their membership cards by phone, once it is established that our facilities are safe to open. We ask residents to refrain from renewing their membership cards until we have additional information on how this virus will impact us moving forward.
Membership card expiration exclusively removes the ability to renew passes online through the ActiveNet portal. Under normal circumstances, this would require residents to renew their cards in person. However, once our facilities open, we strongly encourage residents to take advantage of this additional support and renew expired memberships over the phone by calling our front desk staff at 303.388.0724 (Monday-Friday, 10:00 am-4:00 pm). If your memberships are not expired come the time we are permitted to open, you will still be able to renew online through your ActiveNet account. The annual renewal fee ($20) will remain consistent across all methods of renewing Resident Membership Cards.
FACILITY RENTALS AND UPCOMING EVENTS:
The MCA has postponed/canceled all programs, activities, events, registrations, and facility rentals through May 31st, 2020. This will include the following:
We will be sharing a variety of at-home activities and community-generated content via our social media accounts. Sign up for our weekly email newsletter, via our website, or follow us on social media to catch the latest updates and virtual events taking place throughout the community.
MCA & DENVER MANAGED PARKS:
Essential services and operations, including trash and park maintenance, will continue. MCA essential personnel, along with CTM maintenance staff, will maintain a presence in the community while upholding the guidelines presented by the CDC.
In compliance with the City and County of Denver’s current directive, the MCA has closed all their playgrounds, basketball courts, volleyball courts, picnic areas, and other similar spaces conducive to public gatherings.
Of course, we understand it is physically and mentally healthy to be outdoors. Within MCA managed pocket parks, we are enforcing the state and city provision that residents only be outdoors at times and in places where they can maintain six feet of physical distance between themselves and others.
It is best to socialize only with your household members, limit group size, and make sure there is at least six feet of physical distance between all people at all times. The MCA also urges residents to wear a mask or cloth that will cover their mouth and nose and use it whenever they are outside their own house or yard. Colorado officials are asking everyone to wear a non-medical cloth face covering while out in public.
MCA RESPONSE TO COVID-19
Stapleton Community,
What a strange time this is in our world, country, and community. The MCA has decided to make several changes in our community practices to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), and to foster the safety and health of our community.
As you know, the CDC recommends that older adults, and those with underlying health conditions, avoid large gatherings. We also believe that we have an ethical and moral obligation to act now in mitigating community transmission, and to minimize the impact on our health care system. As the CDC has termed it, “social distancing,” is what we are advocating for at this time.
The MCA has postponed/cancelled all programs, activities, evets, registrations, and facility rentals through April 30th, 2020. This will include the following:
Essential services and operations including trash and park maintenance will continue. Our staff will keep a presence in the community while maintaining the guidelines presented by the CDC until we fully understand the impact and duration of this pandemic.
We will keep you updated through our weekly email newsletter, social media, and our website. Please visit stapletoncommunity.com for forthcoming updates and information.
We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time.
