CAB and its committees meet at various times
throughout the month (in most cases) on various topics related to the
development of Stapleton. Committees include: Communications,
Housing Diversity, Membership, Parks
Advisory Group (PAG), Workforce Diversity; Zoning and Planning (ZAP).
The
CAB was initially established by Denver Mayor Webb in 1993. CAB’s role
changed in 1995 to advise the newly created Stapleton Development
Corporation (SDC). CAB members consist of community and business
leaders. CAB provides community input to SDC via one non-voting seat on
its Board. Historically, it has been the Chair of the CAB who sits at
that seat. The SDC agenda includes a report from CAB. The CAB member
gives highlights from the CAB meeting and answers all questions
regarding the CAB report or other questions SDC Board members have. The
SDC Board also gets a copy of the CAB minutes in their Board packets.
The SDC Board agenda also includes time for community comment where
anyone can come and speak to the SDC Board. Finally, CAB is tasked with
completing a performance review to abide by the Performance Standards in
the Purchase Agreement. This review is focused on ensuring that Forest
City is performing consistent with the Green Book and other agreements
(for example the Stapleton Affordable Housing Plan). CAB was initially
called the Stapleton 2000 Committee.
