Construction/Traffic Update

Week of March 17, 2019

Thompson Court will permanently close between 46th Avenue and the Project sound wall on Tuesday, March 19. This area will stay closed until 46th Avenue North opens in its final configuration. Access will be maintained from 47th Avenue.

Columbine Street will close between 46th Avenue and the Project sound wall during Swansea Elementary School’s spring break, March 22-31, in preparation for the bridge construction scheduled for this summer.

Construction Noise Information:

Construction activities will be happening day and night. Activities that occur overnight will be within the noise variance limits of 75-decibel hourly average with an allowable spike up to 86 decibels. To make a complaint about construction noise during the night call the 24-hour hotline at 833-C70-INFO (833-270-4636). DDPHE regulates the noise variance and residents may also call the city at 3-1-1. There is additional information about the variance here.

Nighttime general construction the weeks of March 17 and 24, 2019 will occur at the following locations:

  • Brighton Boulevard and I-70 interchange
  • 46th Avenue and Union Pacific Railroad crossing
  • “Local Road” closure area
  • 46th Avenue between York Street and Colorado Boulevard
    • Steele Street at I-70
  • Colorado Boulevard between 44th and 48th avenues

I-70 between Colorado Boulevard and Quebec Street

Stapleton Drive (north and south) between Colorado Boulevard and Quebec Street

  • I-70 between Quebec Street and I-225 interchange
    • I-70 at the Peoria Street interchange
    • I-270 flyover
