This powerful film delves into the heart-wrenching story of Reyhaneh Jabbari, a young Iranian woman unjustly accused of murder and her subsequent battle for justice in a system stacked against her. Through her letters from prison, "Seven Winters in Tehran" unfolds the emotional and complex layers of her seven-year fight for freedom, offering a poignant look at human resilience and the quest for justice.
Hosted by Vincent Piturro, Ph.D., professor of film and media studies in the Department of English at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Piturro has significantly contributed to Denver's cultural scene, partnering with the MCA to showcase global cinema not widely available elsewhere. He writes "The Indie Prof.," a film review column in The Front Porch with a 30,000 monthly circulation, and serves as the general studies chair on the Faculty Senate Standing Committee at MSU Denver, blending his passion for film with academic leadership.
